I was giving Gmail some thought again today and another thought came to me. In one of my previous posts had a look at gmail before. In that post I mentioned that I thought that Google might only ever offer their webmail via invites only. I now realise that this was a stupid statement to make.

The reason for this is that first time email users are not going to wait around for someone to give them an invite. They are just going to get a email account from Hotmail or Yahoo Mail. The only good thing about the invite system is that there won’t be so many spammers or 419 scammers using gmail :-P.
