Women

Life in London, Quick Thought No Comments »

Women are fascinating creatures. Don’t get me wrong. I love women, one especially. But they have their odd quirks that can be quite amusing at times.

For example. In our office we have two toilets. They sit opposite each other. One of them is spacious, has a sink and soap and is a pretty pleasant toilet as toilets go. The other one is small and has no sink. The seat is old and broken so if you apply any sideways pressure it slides off and you could end up in a ball on the floor. It is a typical men’s toilet.

Except for one feature. It has a mirror. Now guess which toilet is frequented solely by the ladies in my office?

Hmmmm

I love The Daily WTF. It puts all my problems into perspective. Yesterday’s WTF is brilliant.

Holiday Photos

Just a little note to let anyone know that last night I finished sorting and rotating all my photos from Egypt. They are busy uploading onto this server for publishing hopefully when I take lunch this afternoon. Some really good ones there. Hope to have some comments! :)

***UPDATE***

OK, the photos are up. I did a mass import of all of them so expect some tweaks in the next couple of days to change the initial picture and any ones I don’t like to go :P I hope you enjoy!

London Geek Dinner

IT Chapters, Life in London No Comments »

I went to the Geek Dinner at the Texas Embassy on Tuesday. It was great fun. Great food, great beer and great company. Finally got to meet Nick Swan. I have chatted to him for ages on MSN Messenger but never actually spoken to him or met him. :P

Hugh and Robert Scoble were the organizers and it was a great evening. Around 200 people arrived and it was a great atmosphere. Podcasters were there as well. Was tons of fun.

But this is not the reason for this blog post. No my friends there is a far more sinister reason. Beware before reading any further. You have been warned! :)

Microsoft had all these little Channel 9 little toys. Some pictures of them can be seen here. So because (as previously discussed :P ) I am a bastard, I took a few. And left them in my bag. For a few days.

Time passes and I decide to use my bag again. I open the bag and am nearly killed by the noxious fumes coming out of the bag. The little Channel 9 dude’s are the most chemical filled toys I have ever seen in my life. And might I say, FLAMMABLE. Yes folks, I took one outside last night and put it out of it’s misery. I have never seen something catch fire as quickly as that, that THING.

Nothing more to say. A picture says a thousand words. Clicky

Connect Via Books

Life in London No Comments »

Nick Swan has just completed a great project called ConnectViaBooks.

It looks like a great way to meet new people that share your reading interests and share your experiences with books that you have read.

Looks like an exciting opportunity and hopefully a great community will start to grow.

Well done Nick and Flemming!
