For Sale

Hey

I am selling my Squier Bass and the accompanying Fender Rumble 15 amplifier similiar to the linked photo. I have decided to spend more time outside than in and bought myself a bike. So therefore something needs to go otherwise my bedroom fills up :P

The package is absolutely wonderful. The Squier is a sunburst brown and the wood grain is a beautfilu colour. The guitar has a great sound and is perfect to just pick up and play. The amp is really powerful and puts out a great sound. There is nothing wrong/broken/dodgy about either item. They are both in perfect condition.

I will be putting up actual pictures this evening, so come back later for a better look. :)

I want to sell the lot for £250 but this is always negotiable. It is probably easier to collect than post as the guitar will be quite expensive to send and I would worry about damage. I can always meet up somewhere to do the deal. :P

I also have a Ritter Gig bag and a set of Seinheiser headphones that will go free with the set. If there aren’t many offers, I will be putting it up on Ebay.

Hey, its up on Ebay!

Stormhoek Wine

Having signed up to Hugh Mcleod’s generous offer of free wine, I have been waiting for my delivery to try it out. On Friday, I finally received the bottle (DHL’ed to my door) and decided to wait until Saturday to try it out.

Saturday came and I took some photos initially to show everyone the wine and then poured myself a glass. I had received a bottle of the Chardonnay variety and being a South African I had high hopes that this wine would be a winner.

The wine is an absolute winner. It has a wonderful crisp taste and went down very well. If only I had some more! :) It is a perfect wine for parties and would go incredibly well with any sort of sea-food.

The only “downside” I found is that it doesn’t have a cork. Many wine buyers steer clear of wines that are screw top. However, after tasting Stormhoek this weekend, its no longer a problem. Hopefully the stores will be stocked soon as I am really looking forward to trying some of the red varieties.

Thanks again to Hugh and Nick of Orbital wines for bringing in a great product.

Monika Suchocka - In Memory

Life in London 5 Comments »

I write this today sitting outside my house on a glorious Monday evening. The birds are singing, there is not a cloud in the sky and it is very peaceful. It feels like there is nothing wrong with the world.

However, on Friday night we received word that Monika was a victim of the horrific bomb blasts that occured on Thursday 7th July 2005. Thank you to all the people who helped with the search and the kind words we received.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Monika’s parents, her family and her friends. We will never forget the beautiful woman that was a joy to work with and a friend worth having. We will remember you, as you would want to be remembered, with happiness and in positive celebration of your life. Reluctantly we hand you over to the care of God.

We will miss you!

Hi all

I have a favour to ask. One of my collegues has been missing since the blasts yesterday morning. If you have seen the person below, please get in contact with me. Her name is Monika Suchocka. She has blonde hair, blue eyes and is around 170cm (5.57 foot) tall. The last we heard from her was a text message saying she was getting on a bus. If you know any information or know of any “Have you Seen” lists or ways of finding people who are injured or killed, I would be grateful for ANY help.

We currently have two people doing a hospital run but have been unsuccesful so far. We are phoning the hospitals every 2 hours as they are saying that casulties are still coming in. We have contacted the police, all the official lines of communication and nothing has come through.

Contact details for any information:

Office phone: 020 747 19330
After hours numbers: 07950283791 or 07843005377 or 07834356787

Email: info [AT] rjb.za.net

Or leave comments on this article. Thank you for your time.

Once again, any information would be helpful. A phone number, a lead anything. Below is a thumbnail of Monika, click it for a bigger picture.

Thanks again

***UPDATE***

We have got her photo in The Sun, the Evening Standard and hopefully Sky News. I just received a call from Ferrarri Newsagency who are running a story on Monika.

No news as of this morning. We did get her photo on BBC News last night and I see Reuters did a story and a few newspapers are running her name. Google News has a list of most of the news sources with Monika listed. Thank you to everyone with information that has been passed onto myself. It is very much appreciated.

No news today (Sunday). Tracy, one of my co-workers did a news interview with BBC News last night and I saw a load of newspapers today and yesterday with Monika’s photo in it. Thank you to Adam Curry and Hugh for their frontpage link and photo. The more people that see her photo the bigger chance that we can get information or some news. Thank you again for the support and help given so far. I hope I will have some news on Monday.

Not much to report today. We have met up with Monika’s housemates and took them out for a nice picnic in Hyde Park. The policemen assigned to Monika have been to her house to collect DNA samples. They also came around to our work to get some information and have requested dental records from her dentist in Poland. Please keep Monika, her friends and family in your thoughts and prayers.

We have a moment of silence at 12:00 this afternoon. I think it will be quite a moving experience. So where ever you are at 12:00 BST please take two minutes of your time to remember the victims of last Thursdays attacks.

Off to see Nine Inch Nails tonight at Brixton Academy. Can’t wait. I bought 2 disposable cameras so I will have an album up by the end of the week with all the photos.

I am tempted to take my iRiver and record the concert. Good idea?
