Cops Bully Photographer, "We" Win

As an avid photographer, I have had a few run ins with people who think that photography in public places is either illegal or gives them a right for general abuse.

Quoting Rogier van Bakel:

"To be clear, there is no law against taking photos — or video — in a public space. Not in the U.K., anyway. Not in the U.S., either. Know your rights, and assert them. Let them atrophy, and, like never-used muscles, they begin to disappear."

Below is a video of London Community Support Officers behaving in a disgraceful way, projecting so much aggression from the first, that I guess most people would immediately back down.  This sort of behaviour is disgusting but hopefully displays possibly a form of correct manner to handle these matters.

Post New Year

Happy New Year everybody. 2006 was a “different” year for me, one that had loads of experiences, some I would want to do again (getting married) others not so much. I hope everyone has a great year; 2007 has great potential!

I’ve uploaded some new photos that I took the last couple of days to Zooomr, click on the photo below to see some more. I have a set from Dover coming, I just need to get round to process them.

I can’t believe tomorrow is the last day of the year.  Christmas has come and gone and all is set for 2007.  My family and some friends went to a pub on Christmas Day for lunch.  Lots of fun, photos at the link below. :)

So the news is out.  I have resigned from London 1st and am taking up a really cool position at the guys at Dotnet Solutions in Windsor.  The support Dotnet have shown me in waiting for almost a year is a wonderful thing and I hope to pay them back in the quality of my work.

So 4 weeks of work and then off to South Africa to sort my visa.  I’m pretty sad to leave London 1st as they have shown me such great support over the years.  Thanks to Dave Stewart and Tracy Purdon for their help through the last 3 years.

But, I cannot wait for the move!

I received a nice present on Friday.  After much deliberation, Sarah went and bought me/us a Canon 350D for our wedding present.  Wow, what a camera.  I haven’t finished the degree you seem to require to get through the manual but the photos that come out of this beauty are fantastic.  The quality and clearness are fantastic and the camera has such a brilliant shutter speed, I can’t wait to test this thing out properly.

Below is a photo I took of Sarah and Charlie this morning.  Click through to see the full sizes.
