The Fragile

I’ve been listening to a lot of Nine Inch Nails lately but I’ve got to say that “The Fragile” album is absolutely amazing.  Give it a try.

And no, this isn’t an ad. ;)  Do I need a disclosure that I don’t advertise as some payperpost people are disclosing that they do advertise?

So the news is out.  I have resigned from London 1st and am taking up a really cool position at the guys at Dotnet Solutions in Windsor.  The support Dotnet have shown me in waiting for almost a year is a wonderful thing and I hope to pay them back in the quality of my work.

So 4 weeks of work and then off to South Africa to sort my visa.  I’m pretty sad to leave London 1st as they have shown me such great support over the years.  Thanks to Dave Stewart and Tracy Purdon for their help through the last 3 years.

But, I cannot wait for the move!

I received a nice present on Friday.  After much deliberation, Sarah went and bought me/us a Canon 350D for our wedding present.  Wow, what a camera.  I haven’t finished the degree you seem to require to get through the manual but the photos that come out of this beauty are fantastic.  The quality and clearness are fantastic and the camera has such a brilliant shutter speed, I can’t wait to test this thing out properly.

Below is a photo I took of Sarah and Charlie this morning.  Click through to see the full sizes.

In the past two days:

Primary domain controller crash: Two out of our 3 drives in the RAID 5 array died leaving us with no data left.  Dell were very helpful but there is nothing they can do. Everything gone.  We’re still rebuilding and Exchange will not install.  Active directory is luckily still up on a BDC but building this the server is turning into a bitch.  On another note, no one in the office has email because exchange is down. Yum

Phone system crash:  No outgoing calls which means no connection to HSBC (they require modem connections) .  This also means that none of our clients can be paid.

Launch of new Accounting Engine: Going smoothly but added on top of the above we’re starting to show cracks in the good nature that is inherent in IT people. ;)

One month until I get married:  Lots to do, no time to do it - see above.

I’m trying out Zooomr as a photo hosting service. Pretty neat and has a better interface than Flickr in my opinion.
